A list of names and item numbers of acceptable meter base manufacturers is below. This list of approved meter bases for Pennyrile Electric installations will also be available at any Pennyrile office.
Pennyrile Electric reserves the right to update and revise the approved manufacturer list of meter bases as necessary to provide an adequate, safe and reliable electric service to homes and businesses.
Due to current supply issues, we are allowing the use of Class 320, meter bases for single phase services. These meter bases are rated for 320 amp continuous current, 400 amp peak current and will require class 320 “stab-in” meters which we will be receiving in a week or so. These meter bases are best suited for residential single phase services where they current would rarely exceed 320 amps. For services where the current would regularly exceed 320 amps, we may need to look at other alternatives.
These new class 320 meter bases will be taking the place of the current 400/600 amp, bolt-in meter bases that we currently use. We will eventually be phasing out the use of the bolt-in meters and meter bases as those type meters will be unavailable for purchase in the future. Please contact us if you have any questions.
Meter bases with a disconnect or bypass switch are not approved.
